Mother’s Day Like a Local

Mother’s Day is nearly here and we are still in a pandemic! I’m sure you thought your gift last year was pretty cool BUT you especially need to step it up this year. Moms right now are not ‘bored’ or starting side hustles or alphabetizing their crystal collection. Moms right now? They are working triple overtime.

Now that we got how amazing Moms are out of the way, let’s talk about another thing we can easily agree on: the importance of supporting local small businesses. There is a massive shift in the way local businesses can operate. With any shift comes a lag time in profit returns, we need to come together. More than ever we need to make the ethical choice to purchase locally when we can. Putting local + love of Mamas together = I’ve compiled the perfect compilation of gifts, wrapped in a pretty little bow for ya.

Below is a list of all Maryland sourced gifts from Westminister to Baltimore to Annapolis and even Severna Park. I would be happy to receive any of these (*hint-hint*) for Mother’s Day and I may have already treated myself to one or two.

In no particular order let’s get it crackin’

1. Hon’s Honey Gift Box $55

Hon’s Honey is a Baltimore based business that empowers women survivors of addiction, abuse, poverty, sex-trafficking, and prostitution. This specially made gift box supports their mission and can be shipped with a personal note to a special Mama anywhere.

A one stop shop for ALL gifts for everyone. HERE. has an entire tab dedicated to Mother’s Day, that’s how seriously they take gift giving. I was initially swooned by the Morse Code earrings, they come in a few different shade options. Then I was really taken aback by the gift box and what you get.

If you’re feeling particularly kind, go ahead and get her a subscription, who knows when we will be able to enjoy a cup outside of our homes. It is such a treat to get coffee in the mail. The Spring Equinox is a 50/50 dark/light roast Guatamalan coffee, it is the fine line between Winter and Spring. Bravo!
